Curators in mobility: the cultural, social and political positioning and responsibility of curating trans-national projects
Saturday, September 14th at The Pill, Istanbul 10 am to 12 pm followed by a shared lunch (Public event in english)
With Adrian Bojenoiu (co-founder of Mobile Biennale and Director Club ElectroPutere in Craiova); Suela Cennet (Director of The Pill, Istanbul); Bige Örer (Director of Istanbul Biennial); Kathleen Ritter (curator and artist); Asli Seven (curator). The exchange is moderated by Ali Akay, curator and Professor of sociology at Mimar Sinan University, Istanbul.
The first edition of “Informal Meetings” is thought as a time to exchange and share experiences on mobility within current curatorial practices. Contrasting biennale cases with ephemeral or mobile projects across different sites, this meeting will be an opportunity to ask how we take into consideration the host territory and the responsibility and specifics inherent to working in the international context.
